Reviews

I was eagerly awaiting the second issue of this excellent noise zine from Australia, and when it arrived I wasn't disappointed. This issue has interviews with Deathpile/Angel of Decay, some Gelsomina, The Cherry Point, Skeletone Records label profile, T.A.D.M., Bowels Of Noise 6 live show and a whole bunch of record reviews. Interviews are well done and show nicely how different people are involved in the noise scene. The live show report from Tokyo is great and really makes me wish I had been there, and I guess that's exactly what a gig review is supposed to do? The music reviews take up the whole of the second half of the zine. There's mostly harshnoise, but also power electronics and some industrial/ambient/atmospheric stuff. The reviews are well written and the editor isn't afraid to give critic when necessary. Excellent layout, too. If you're into noise, this zine is essential. The first 50 (or so) copies of the zine came with a Skeletone Records sampler disc, a 3"CDR-R with four tracks by three of their artists. Fabbrico Incubo does rather good ambient noise, Post-Mortem Junkie (where do these names come from?) is pretty much the same except a little less noisy and more "Gloomy", and Neuntöter Der Plage adds crappy vocals to the otherwise same thing. So if you missed the sampler you didn't miss much.
